Honours in Australian Indigenous Studies
Students complete the Honours Specialisation in Australian Indigenous Studies in the one-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree program. To be eligible to apply, you have to have completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from the ANU or equivalent from another institution.
To undertake an Honours Specialisation in Australian Indigenous Studies, you must have completed the Major in Australian Indigenous Studies - or its equivalent - and demonstrate that you have requisite knowledge and insight into Indigenous Studies, and the capacity to complete an Honours Specialisation by Thesis. You must have the support of a prospective supervisor for your research project, and your research project must be approved by the Honours Specialisation convener.
Decolonising research: course support for Honours research in matters that concern First Peoples
To support your research project, students undertaking the Honours Specialisation in Australian Indigenous Studies take a course in decolonising methodologies (Indigenous Perspectives on Research Methods, Methodologies and Theories INDG4001) with another Honours-level course relevant to your research project.
If you are considering undertaking a research project in another Honours Specialisation and your research project is on matters that concern First Peoples, then you can join this course with the support of your Honours Specialisation convener.
